Flashswap exhibition

Birmingham Photospace’s first major event was a Flashswap at the Vaad Gallery in the Custard Factory on 21st March 2009.

Photographers of all abilities were invited to bring their work along to exhibit – but as a twist, everything on show was offered as a swap. In other words, for every print given away, photographers were able to take another from the exhibition in return.

Exhibitors started arriving at 10am… and by 5pm, 85 photographers were exhibiting more than 500 prints. After 6pm, stickers were stuck next to the photographs that people wanted to take home… and by 7pm the gallery was empty again.

Below is a roundup of photos, videos and comments about the Flashswap.
