Creating a world class venue for photography in Birmingham

Birmingham Library and Archive Services are presenting a new outdoor exhibition in Centenary Square from June 20th untill August 31st.
It contains over 50 images taken in by Birmingham photographer John Collier at the Exhibition of Local Manufactures and Natural History in 1886.
There will be a special supplement accompanying the exhibition in the Birmingham Post on Friday 26 June.

It’s that time of the year.
First of the Photography grad shows of ’09 is Emergence at the Custard Factory showing the work of HND and HNC students from Sandwell College in West Bromwich.
Sandwell is one of the best photo schools in the Midlands and there should be something for all tastes (I am of course biased because I got my HND there).
They have a blog up here, hopefully there’ll be more images up before the exhibition is launched.
Emergence is open from the 6th – 13th June at the VAAD Gallery in the Custard Factory
